Ursula Baumann from Randburg Photo Club is our October winner!
Ursula, congratulations on your winning image – Stare of the brave
Ursula says:
My husband Herman Baumann was my awesome model. I had a vision that I would like him to pose for me for my Viking series.
He grew his beard and hair, shaved the sides endured the torture of eyeliner and false hair extensions being clipped in.
The shoot was in natural light, and in this image, he is looking into the late afternoon setting sun.
The only elements I introduced in post processing, was the cloudy background, removing the palisade fence behind him.
Desaturating it and adding a sepia tone, I think worked well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this photoshoot and both of us will never forget it.
Our 1st runner-up is Ben Botha from Southern Suburbs Camera Club with “Croc passenger”
Our 2nd runner-up is Alta Oosthuizen from National Photographic Club with “Flow down the Couldron”
Thank you to the judges:

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?
This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly Senior winner onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image. The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our Web site for the duration of the month.
For the Senior Club Competition Winner of the Month, a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the Senior club winner via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.
Click here to download instructions on how to upload your entry onto Photovault
All images must be original and must not incorporate elements produced by anyone else. By virtue of submitting an entry, the clubs must certify all the work in the entered image as their club member’s own. The PSSA Director of Competitions has the right to ask for the RAW files.
Frequently we do require high resolutions of these images as PSSA use them for Print Exhibitions to promote PSSA as well as showcasing the work being done around the country.
At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Senior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
