Background
International competitions called FIAP BIENNIALS are organised amongst all the member countries of FIAP. There are five Biennials namely Black & White; Colour Print, Projected Images, Nature & Youth which are usually held every second year. Participation in these competitions is limited to national collections i.e. individual PSSA members are invited to compete to gain a place in the national collection i.e. the PSSA entry. This entry is then sent to the organisers of the particular Biennial – in this case Luxembourg, who arrange for an international panel of judges. Awards are given to the winning country as well as to the authors of the best individual entries.
There were categories: Sport, Landscapes, Contra-jour, Visual art
Only one of the categories consisting of the 20 best images was chosen and sent to the Biennial in Luxembourg with at the most 2 images per author. It was the Sport category.
Congratulations to the following members whose images were selected for the PSSA entry – Evelyn Gibson, Lize Hill, Pierre Jordaan, Anton Le Grange, Francois Loubser, Eddie Reinecke, Andre Serfontein, Hans Slaghuis, Jan Swiegers, George Swart & Johann van der Walt. Special Congratulations to Lize Hill (2), Anton Le Grange (2), Francois Loubser, Eddie Reinecke & Hans Slaghuis whose images were included in the Projected Images Show.
