Willie Pieterse from Boksburg Camera Club is our January winner!

Willie, congratulations on your winning image – Smoking with some light from the back

Willie says:-

The photo was taken in a studio on the 17th of January 2023.

The model in the photo is the one and only Peter Thomas. I know a lot of photographers have taken photos of him before.

We only used one studio strobe light directly from the back of the model with a very small diffuser to try and get more direct light.

I used my Canon camera, 24-70 mm Tamron lens, ISO 100, 160th of a second at F10.

Our 1st runner-up is Tania Cholwich from AFO Photography Club with “High speed cheetah hunt”

Our 2nd runner-up is – Anje Smith from Rustenburg Photographic Society with “Intense”

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?

This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly Senior winner onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image. The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our Web site for the duration of the month.

For the Senior Club Competition Winner of the Month, a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the Senior club winner via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.

Frequently we do require high resolutions of these images as PSSA use them for Print Exhibitions to promote PSSA as well as showcasing the work being done around the country.

At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Senior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
