Vicki Street from Maritzburg Camera Club is our August winner!
Vicki, congratulations on your winning image – Abigail The Farmers daughter
Vicki says:-
I have been dabbling in Fine Art Photography for many years and have known Abbi since she was 4yrs old. Given her gorgeous freckled face and her beautifully natural red curly hair, Abi is the perfect model for many conceptual photographic styles and ideas.
To create an image like this in studio, you need to take into consideration the wardrobe, styling of the models hair, props, backdrops and of course lighting.
Abi is a natural to work with so it was easy to capture this image.
The equipment that I used was a one light set up, an Olympus OMD EM1 M11 mirrorless camera with a 40-150mm F2.8 lens.
Shot at ISO 100 F6.3 SS1/125
I usually edit my images in Photoshop and apply my fine art technique to each photo.
Our 1st runner-up is – Francois van der Watt from Bloemfontein Kameraklub with “Running vulture”
Our 2nd runner-up is Malcolm Sutton from Hibiscus Coast Photographic Society with “Stand out from the crowd“
Thank you to the judges:
Andre Ligthelm – AFO
Barry Clayton – Boksburg Camera Club
Nerissa Naidoo – Hibiscus Coast Photographic Society

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?
This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly Senior winner onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image. The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our Web site for the duration of the month.
For the Senior Club Competition Winner of the Month, a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the Senior club winner via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.
Click here to download instructions on how to upload your entry onto Photovault
Frequently we do require high resolutions of these images as PSSA use them for Print Exhibitions to promote PSSA as well as showcasing the work being done around the country.
At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Senior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
