Tribute toToni Ballotta

Toni, past editor of PSSA Image magazine and a former Board Member died very suddenly on 28th April.

Toni, when she was editor, instigated the new format of our magazine for which she was congratulated and honoured in many ways.

She was a great artist, which came through very strongly in her photography. She always told me that her inspiration and love for her abstract photography came from Freeman Patterson and Colla Swart who she loved dearly and they were very special people in her life.

She had just returned from the Richtersveld with Freeman and was going to Canada next year to spend time with him.

As a member of Pretoria Photographic Society, she served on the Committee for many years in the position of Editor, Vice Chairperson and last year went back onto the Committee once again as Editor.

She will be dearly missed by many in the photographic fraternity, every task she took on she did 100% and she especially enjoyed doing the Image magazine.

I will miss her very much as she was a dear friend. We always travelled together to the PSSA functions and Congresses and we were already booked for St. Lucia this year.

RIP Toni, you will live in our memories for a very long time.

Evelyn Gibson.
