2020 Cape Photographers Congress at St Francis

Cape Photographers 20/20 Congress – Cape St Francis –  presented by the Port Elizabeth Camera Club

20 years ago Cape Photographers held their first Congress in Calitzdorp, with the aim of giving the Cape Photographers a voice, 200 years ago Port Elizabeth was founded and with 2020 vision we know that our 20/20 Congress is going to be a great event so we suggest you start making plans right now.

The venue is the Cape St Francis Resort https://www.capestfrancis.co.za/ an ideal venue with access right onto the beach and all sorts of accommodation available to suit any pocket.  When making your booking don’t forget to mention that you are booking for the Photographic Congress in order to get the special rates we have negotiated.

Cape St Francis is on the coast and almost all of our lecturers live on the beach or near the sea and will share their love of the area with you, whether its surfing, sand patterns, dolphins or dunes. 

We have an exciting line up of lecturers, photo shoots, entertainment and more and we will publish the programme here as soon as we have confirmation of the details. And on the subject of competitions, we are excited to announce the introduction of the Cape Congress Photo Competition with the Marike Bruwer Rose Bowl, donated by Sue Jewell in memory of Marike, as a floating trophy to be presented at each Cape Photographers Congress.

The rules are simple, all pictures must have been taken during a previous Cape Photographers Congress! 

This year that can be any of the previous 21 Congresses, the only proviso being that if you were still shooting on film you will have to convert them to digital!   Entry via Photovault is free, all the entries will be shown at Congress, so do enter and help us remember the magic moments.
