Manipulation reared its ugly head in the FIAP Nature Biennial with only 1 of the top 10 countries in both the digital and print categories not breaking the rules, that being Italy. After the judging and announcement of the results it was found that some entries had been manipulated (remember this was a nature competition and no manipulation is allowed in nature) and FIAP called for the RAW images for all entries. I was horrified to discover that 2 of our entries were manipulated. 2 more had to be withdrawn because the photographers could not supply the raw images. Information regarding the requirements can be found on page 49.The number of transgressions meant that we ended up doing better than we did %u2013 the revised results can be viewed here. Congratulations once again to Hannes Rossouw on his award winning image %u2013 Pale Chanting Goshawk with Kill - it moved up in the ratings and he now gets a FIAP Silver Medal.
