Anton La Grange from Mosselbaai Kameraklub is our June winner!
Anton, congratulations on your winning image – Fire Island
Anton says:
During the second week of May 2023, we experienced real summer weather conditions here in Mossel Bay and had fantastic sunrise and sunset photo opportunities. In my composite I used a sunrise image with the Outeniqua mountains in the background combined with a layer with the cloud formation during sunset taken at Luderitz with the application of the motion blur tool and radial blur tool. Thereafter I worked on the exposure, vibrance and saturation. The Vietnamese fishermen in the boat were used from the images taken during one of our 9 trips to Vietnam. The equipment used was Canon R7 and Canon Dx.
Our 1st Runner-up is Sharlene Cathro from Prince’s Grant Camera Club with “Early morning joke”
Our 2nd Runner-up is Haig Fourie from Vanderbijlpark Fotografiese Vereeniging with the image ” The Photographer”
Thank you to the judges:
- Evelyn Gibson – Cape Town Photographic Society
- Lynne Kruger-Haye – Ignite Photographic Club
- Paul Rixom – George Camera Club

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?
This is a PSSA monthly competition where authors enter their own image onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image. The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our website for the duration of the month.
Entries for the website competition are entered by the authors themselves via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.
Click here to download instructions on how to upload your entry onto Photovault.
Frequently we do require high resolutions of these images as PSSA uses them for Print Exhibitions to promote PSSA as well as showcasing the work being done around the country.
At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Website Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
