She is our April winner with her image “Catch me if you can”
I took this photo during November 2017 in the Kgalagadi near Rooiputs. The previous morning there were three cubs playing. We were told that people witnessed that the Black-backed jackal caught two of the cubs. The next morning the mother took over the role of playmate and entertained us.
As these Cape foxes are nocturnal and active until just after sunrise, one has to deal with low light and very fast moving subjects. This photo was taken at 05:59.
I used a Canon 1DX MKII with a 500mm F4L lens plus a 1.4x convertor. Aperture f7.1; shutter speed 1/1600; exposure -0.67, and ISO 3200

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?
This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly Senior winner onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image. The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our Web site for the duration of the month.
For the Senior Club Competion Winner of the Month a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the Senior club winner via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.

At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Senior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
