Jürgen Huse from Westville Camera Club is our March winner!
Jürgen, congratulations on your winning image – Holding On
Jürgen says:
I reside in Kloof, Durban. Having a swimming pool with a pump that packed up some time ago, I let mother nature convert it into a wildlife habitat with the most amazing living organisms.
The painted reed frogs were no exception and every evening I would hear their melodious but piercing whistles calling me. One rainy evening in December, the frogs were just clinging onto the creeping foxglove and canary creeper in the most acrobatic comical ways, and I clicked away with my Nikon D500 and vintage Nikon 70-180mm (f 4.5-5.6) d micro lens. Settings were 1/250 sec, F16, ISO 800, focal length 135mm, with flash and assist lighting.
Our 1st runner-up is Jessica Nitschke from Cape Town Photographic Society – The Journey Home
Our 2nd runner-up is Dirk van der Toorn from George Camera Club – Stalking
Thank you to the judges:
Johan Brits – Vanderbijlparkse Fotografiese Vereniging
Malie vd Vyfer – National Photographic Club
Johan Hosten – Pretoria Photographic Society

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?
This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly Junior winner onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image. The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our Website for the duration of the month.
For the Junior Club Competition Winner of the Month, a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the club winner via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.
Instructions on how to upload your entry onto Photovault can be downloaded here
Frequently we do require high resolutions of these images as PSSA use them for Print Exhibitions to promote PSSA as well as showcasing the work being done around the country.
At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Junior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
