Congratulations to Desire Pelser from Highway Camera Club
Desire is our July winner with the image “On Fire”
Desire says:
Robberflies are the lions of the insect world – majestic and ferocious, and gloriously beautiful! They are definitely among my favourite subjects to photograph. They are very successful hunters with excellent eyesight, which has much to do with their impressive eye anatomy. Whereas humans have a single lens in each eye, robberflies have several thousand lenses in each eye. It was early evening, around sunset, when I spotted this beauty scouting for dinner. I crept up very carefully, stalking the hunter, and managed to take a few shots before it flew off.
Photo made using a Canon EOS-R, EF-S 60mm macro lens, 24mm extension tube, Raynox 250, flash and DIY diffuser
Our 1st runner-up is Shaun Fautley from Cape Town Photographic Society with “May I present the Lily”
Our 2nd runner-up is Jack Gamble from Bloemfontein Kameraklub with “Kollig”
Thank you to the judges:
Andre Norris – Centurion CC
Malie v.d. Vyver – NPC

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?
This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly Junior winner onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image. The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our Website for the duration of the month.
For the Junior Club Competition Winner of the Month, a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the club winner via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.
Instructions on how to upload your entry onto Photovault can be downloaded here
Frequently we do require high resolutions of these images as PSSA use them for Print Exhibitions to promote PSSA as well as showcasing the work being done around the country.
At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Junior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
