Junior Club Competition Winners February 2021

Tygerberg Photographic Society - Ben ter Huurne - It is my turn now

Ben ter Huurne from Tygerberg Photographic Society is our February winner!

Congratulations on your winning image – It is my turn now

Ben says:

This little Meerkat family was spotted in the Kgalagadi Transfontier National Park in May along the dry Auob Riverbed. Driving along slowly en-route to Mata-Mata, I saw the head of an an adult Meerkat peering out of her burrow. Hoping that she would come out, I stopped the car and waited. To my surprise, the adult (mother) and 3 pups emerged from their burrow. Once out they energetically started playing hide and seek in and out of the burrow. When mom called, they came up close to her and started drinking. This was definitely a competition about being first. After a while, the slow poke tapped mom’s back for a turn, hence the name: “It is my turn now”.

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?

This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly Junior winner onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image.  The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our Website for the duration of the month.

For the Junior Club Competition Winner of the Month, a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the club winner via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com

Instructions on how to upload your entry onto Photovault can be downloaded here  doc

Frequently we do require high resolutions of these images as PSSA use them for Print Exhibitions to promote PSSA as well as showcasing the work being done around the country.

At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Junior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
