She is our August winner with her image “Top Three”
I took this photo in February at Turffontein racecourse.
I stood looking down from the grandstand as the first race started. I realised immediately that where I stood I would not be able to capture these magnificent thoroughbreds in full gallop. I needed to get much closer to truly capture the bright colours of the jockey’s attire, and the energy, power, determination of the horses themselves.
The the top three horses were running their own race, they had broken away from the pack. It became a race to be the leader, the winner ….. I stood next to the track and felt the thundering hooves as the front runners bore towards me, – in full gallop as I pressed the shutter,……..

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?
This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly Junior winner onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image. The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our Website for the duration of the month.
For the Junior Club Competition Winner of the Month a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the club winner via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.

At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Junior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
