Congratulations to Beverley Barnard from Bethal Fotografie Klub!
She is our April winner with the image “Defrosting”
“On 06/04/2020 during lockdown, I got up early and saw the dew on the grass. I immediately grabbed my camera and took a casual stroll on our farm. I saw some dew drops on the grass seeds in the veld… I quietly sat down in the wet grass and it was only then that I saw this sparkling fly covered in dew drops on a small purple flower. This amazing fly was waiting for the sun to dry his wings and that gave me the perfect opportunity to take this shot. I got goose bumps when I looked at the photo through my lens. I really felt so blessed! I used my Canon EOS 7D Mark II & 100mm Canon Macro Lens EF 100mm 2.8L IS USM, ISO 100, F-Stop F11, Manual Mode with built-in flash”
Our 1st runner-up is Willem Labuschagne from National Photographic Club with ” Smells like spring”
Our 2nd runner-up is Ryan Enslin from Southern Suburbs Camera Club with “imagine”

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?
This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly Junior winner onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image. The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our Website for the duration of the month.
For the Junior Club Competition Winner of the Month, a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the club winner via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.
Instructions on how to upload your entry onto Photovault can be downloaded here
Frequently we do require high resolutions of these images as PSSA use them for Print Exhibitions to promote PSSA as well as showcasing the work being done around the country.
At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Junior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
