Having just returned from a wonderful trip to Namibia with photographers from different parts of the world was so heart warming. Just to see and experience the passion that photographers have for this hobby of ours was very motivational and encouraging. We see it again in the winning images for the Clubs and Web site image this month. CONGRATS as always to the winners.
This was the last month for the year 2015/2016 PSSA Competitions and the final images for the year will now be judged and the winners announced at Congress in August. Thank you to all the clubs who have participated during this year. We would obviously like more clubs to participate and we look forward to the start of the 2016/2017 Competitions.
As always just a friendly reminder again for the Clubs entering to please delegate one person from your club to be responsible for the entries to avoid duplications. Also remember to use the drop down function to enter your Club name and not to leave it as Independent. THANK YOU.
ELECTION OF NATIONAL DIRECTORS
You should all by this time have your voting papers. PLEASE get your vote in before the closing date of 16 July if you have not already done so. If you have not received your ballot papers, PLEASE contact me for assistance.
THE UP-AND-COMING COMPETITION 2016
The long awaited results of the Up-and-Coming Competition 2016 are finally out. The reason for the delay was due to images being entered into incorrect Sections of the competition and the rules not being thoroughly read. PSSA has spent time sorting out the incorrect entries in order not to disqualify any entries unnecessarily, unless the entries did not comply with the category definitions. There were still however some disqualifications in the Nature category where domestic animals and images with human elements were entered.
Remember when entering any salon and/or competition, to avoid disappointments, entrants must read the brochures provided very carefully to avoid disqualifications and if unsure to please ask the Salon Directors of that salon or the Competition Co-ordinator for clarification.
SUBS ARE DUE NOW
You probably will have received your notification from our Membership Secretary, Ria regarding your membership subs. If you have not PLEASE contact Ria or myself in this regard so we can rectify the situation ASAP as we do not want to lose you as a member.

The next edition of Image should be in your hands by the middle of August at the latest.

CONGRESS LANGEBAAN
Our Annual Congress is just around the corner and by all reports all on target and looks like a very exciting programme. We hope to see as many of you as possible there, the camaraderie is always great to experience.
Make the best of our winter weather by continuing to get out there taking these winning images, making it fun, enjoyable and a pleasure. The most important aspect is to enjoy photography as a hobby.
