From the desk of the PRO – May 2019
PSSA hope that you all had a good Easter and long break. If you went away over this holiday period we look forward as always to the wonderful and inspiring images that now come forth from you all.
Once again great images in our April monthly competitions. The web site winner Simon Fletcher with his image “Forest Fairy” certainly portrayed for us a very creative image which leaves us all with some reflective thoughts.
The May Competitions will close this time round only on the 28th May, this is to enable some extra time necessary this month due to various circumstances. It also gives you three extra days to get your Club entries in. Just a friendly reminder again, please, if your image wins at the club do not enter it into the web site competition as I am sure you can understand how difficult this becomes also if a member of two or more clubs do not enter the same images into them in the same month. Unfortunately as well images with the authors’ watermarks on are not allowed to be entered into the competitions. I am sure you can also understand the reasons for this as well – please do not hesitate to contact me at any time if you have any queries in connection with these competitions firstname.lastname@example.org All the winners on our web site. Enjoy them and congrats to all, keep inspiring us.
We are really looking forward to the feedback from the Cape Photographers Congress – I am sure it was a great success.
Congresses are always something very special for photographers, so please get going and register for our still to happen Congresses this year.
The Photo and Video Experience Competitions are now open in Photovault, please support these competitions. We are going to be giving away free tickets to attend this Experience in July 26-28 July and it would be great to see some of our members winning in the competitions.
PSSA is getting invited to participate now in many competitions – keep checking our web site www.pssa.co.za as well as info and Newsletters reaching your clubs thru the Regional Directors.
This is the latest competition sent to me as the PRO
This competition’s organisation comes from Austraiia and they would love South Africans to participate in this great Portrait Competition.
More info follow this link https://fipp.org.au as well as on our FB page. It has been picked up that it says only Australian residents can enter but that is only for the Nikon prize as they do not want to send it to a winner overseas. It is open to all and overseas people have entered this competition for years and won the big prize. Contact Helen Newman at email@example.com if any problems.
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving” a unanimous quote I read recently. Go out and try something new, whatever that may be – do it now – don’t keep putting it off until tomorrow.
TILL NEXT MONTH HAVE FUN, ENJOY AND CONTINUE TO INSPIRE US ALL WITH YOUR IMAGES.
