Carole Hibbert from Highway Camera Club is our June winner!

Carole, congratulations on your winning image – Silver Runaways

Carole says: – SILVER RUNAWAYS (title taken from the poem written by a South African Poet Roy Campbell titled ‘Horses on the Camargue’)

Travelling to the Camargue in France had always been a dream, so to spend 4 days there on a photographic workshop mid-2019 was incredible.

On this particular day we dressed in long waders and wellington boots as the conditions were extremely muddy. The horses would run through an opening in the trees into the marsh, crossing to within a few metres, so the first reaction was to protect your camera and lens by ducking!

This image was taken with the Canon EOS 1dx, Canon 100-400mm lens at ISO 400, 1/1000sec

HOW DOES THIS COMPETITION WORK?

This is a PSSA monthly competition where clubs enter their monthly Senior winner onto Photovault. Appointed judges select the winning image. The monthly winner gets displayed on the home page of our Web site for the duration of the month.

For the Senior Club Competition Winner of the Month, a club representative (ideally the Chairperson) submits the Senior club winner via Photovault at www.photovaultonline.com.

Frequently we do require high resolutions of these images as PSSA use them for Print Exhibitions to promote PSSA as well as showcasing the work being done around the country.

At the end of the PSSA calendar year (30 June of each year) the Senior Club Competition Winning Image of the Year is selected.
