PSSA AV SALON 2015 DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Judges were Chris Daly FPSSA APSSA(Vers) AFIAP, Paul Rixom LPSSA (Vers) and Adri van Oudheusden FPSSA, APSSA (Vers).

Judging was done live, using the standard PSSA AV scoring guidelines to rank the entries and select the acceptances and award winners.

We received a total of 39 sequences by 19 entrants. Six AVs were Wings productions, the rest were PTE productions.

Thirteen sequences (33%) were accepted. The resolution varied between 1440 and 1920.

Congratulations to Daleen Engelbrecht who won the PSSA Silver Medal, with “Incest” – the author certainly managed to give a voice to those who suffer in silence.

PSSA Bronze Medal went to Anne d’Oliviera and Franz Jesche for their AV, “Mozambique, a tortured paradise” – a dramatisation of the heartbreaking history of Mozambique.

Certificates of Merit went to Wayne Webb for “Madame Zingara”, a showcase of a few of the talented spectacular people from countries across the globe, Andy Polakowski for “The Runaway”, the story of a small bird that ran away from its master, and Luana Laubscher for “Welcome to my world”, the inaugural Gay Parade, known as the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras,held in Knysna in 2000.

Daleen Engelbrecht, for “Masquerade” and “Shoes”

Andy Polakowski, for “The day after tomorrow”

Mary Hunter, for “Aerobatics”

Luana Laubscher, for “Dirty Sticky Floors”

Jeanette du Toit for “The colourful Overberg”

and Wayne Webb for “Woody Cape”..
